Sortation

High-performance, precision sortation provides shipping solutions for all carton/tote sizes and weights.  Selecting the best technology to apply is based on through-put, facility space, and product characteristics. Labels with barcodes must be read by a scanner/camera to identify assigned destination. The Controls System interfaces with the scanner and sorter to ensure accurate diverting of the package.  The most efficient method for filling trucks/trailers is “reverse route sequence” where the last packages into the truck are the first stop to be delivered. This requires orders to be picked and sorted in waves, ensuring chronological order. Proper alignment and gapping mitigates errors/no reads, and ensures cartons are loaded into the right trailer. Additionally, cross-dock methods route cartons from the receiving area to the shipping sorter for effective warehouse operations.
